Senator Bennett's Warm Sock Collection

The Collection Box at Stock & Field, Danville.
One of the boxes placed around Danville for the collection of warm socks for adults and children sponsored by Senator Bennett.
Lou is ready to inventory tag the socks Senator Bennett brought to Fair Hope in January 2020.

Volunteers Cindy and Becky were working when Senator Bennett and Betty brought their Warm Socks Donation.
Senator Bennett sponsored a sock drive in November and December 2019. In Vermilion County he will give the socks to Danville Rescue Mission, Cross Point at the Y Homeless Program, and Fair Hope Children’s Ministry. Betty Seidel from the Senator’s Danville office encouraged us to go to the new Big R (Stock and Field) . The Senator will be giving the children’s socks and small men’s and women’s socks to Fair Hope. We can use them in our large boys’ and girls’ sock drawers. The Senator brought the donated socks to the mission in January 2020.
Conference Donations
Bishop Frank Beard asked the United Methodist Churches of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference to bring underwear, socks and onesies for boys and girls to Annual Conference, June 2017. Over 4000 items were donated.

Darla Holden, Jim and Roberta Williams and Karel Volpert with some of the 4000+ donations. Thank you everyone who brought these to Annual Conference. The Fair Hope Board and the children of Vermillion County are very appreciative.

Many thanks to the Danville Dashers who have collected socks and stuffed animals for Fair Hope. In addition, several players have donated time to working with the Inventory team sorting and stocking the shelves and racks.

For several years, women of the Catlin United Methodist Church have decorated and donated Christmas Stockings for the families.
In 2019 the Woman's Club of Bismarck also provided stockings and stocking stuffer items which were then assembled by several Fair Hope volunteers.
